BTD6 Tower Tier List 2026 — Best Towers Ranked

Twenty-five towers. Three upgrade paths each. Seventy-five Tier-5 upgrades. Knowing which towers are actually worth your money — and which ones look strong but underperform when it counts — is what separates players who clear CHIMPS from players who lose on round 76 every time. This is the BTD6 tower tier list for 2026, based on raw performance in standard games and CHIMPS mode. All 25 towers are available in the BTD6 Free APK.

How This Tier List Works

Each tower is ranked based on three factors: solo carry potential (can it handle rounds on its own at high tiers?), support value (does it make other towers significantly better?), and cost efficiency (does the price match what you actually get?). Towers are ranked as they perform in a typical Hard or CHIMPS game — not Sandbox with infinite money.

S-Tier — Build These Every Game

Ninja Monkey

Camo detection at base level. Fast attack speed. Cheap placement cost. The Ninja Monkey is the most cost-efficient tower in BTD6 for rounds 1–50. Its middle path upgrade — Distraction — makes Bloons regress one layer when hit, effectively multiplying your damage output. Top path tier-5 (Grandmaster Ninja) spawns a continuous stream of shurikens that shreds grouped Bloons. At no stage of the game is a Ninja Monkey dead weight.

Alchemist

The Alchemist’s Permanent Brew upgrade (top path tier-4) buffs nearby towers to deal extra damage and pop Lead Bloons for 25 rounds per brew. One Alchemist positioned next to your main damage dealers permanently removes Lead immunity from every tower in its range — for free. Bottom path tier-5 (Total Transformation) transforms nearby towers into golden versions with massively increased damage. The Alchemist is the best pure support tower in the game.

Spike Factory

Spike Factory places caltrops on the path ahead of time — the spikes sit there waiting for Bloons to walk into them. Middle path tier-5 (Carpet of Spikes) covers the entire path with a continuous layer of spikes that deal massive damage to everything that touches the track. In the late game, a maxed Spike Factory positioned near the exit is the most reliable “last line of defense” in BTD6. It’s always active, it never targets the wrong Bloon, and it handles Ceramics that slip past your main defense.

Monkey Village

Buffs every tower inside its radius. Top path gives camo detection to all towers nearby — eliminating the need for individual camo upgrades. Middle path increases attack speed for all towers in range. Bottom path tier-4 (Primary Training) permanently improves all Primary towers inside its radius. No other support tower affects as many towers simultaneously. Every competitive BTD6 strategy includes at least one Monkey Village.

A-Tier — Excellent, Use Frequently

Super Monkey

The highest attack speed in the game. Bottom path tier-5 (True Sun God) is the most powerful single tower in BTD6 — it requires specific sacrifices of other towers to reach full power, but at full power it can solo-carry rounds 90–100. Top path tier-5 (Plasma Monkey Fan Club) makes nearby Dart Monkeys fire as fast as Super Monkeys for 15 seconds per activation. Extremely expensive ($65,000+ for the base tier-5), but delivers power that no other tower matches.

Dartling Gunner

Player-aimed — you control where it shoots on the map. Top path tier-5 (Hyper Magnetic Plasma Ray) fires a continuous beam that destroys everything it touches and provides full camo and lead popping. Middle path tier-5 (M.A.D — Massive Attack Delivery) fires missiles at a target location dealing massive MOAB damage. The Dartling Gunner is one of the best towers for CHIMPS specifically because skilled players can direct fire exactly where it’s needed.

Wizard Monkey

Handles Lead Bloons and Purple Bloons — two of the most dangerous early-game threats — without any additional support. Magic bolts pop Lead (which sharp projectiles can’t touch) and Arcane Blast on the top path deals high single-target damage. Bottom path tier-5 (Archmage) is a top-tier MOAB damage dealer that works as a standalone tower from round 50 onward.

Bomb Shooter

Area-of-effect damage that hits every Bloon in the blast radius simultaneously. Middle path tier-3 (MOAB Mauler) deals 10× damage to MOAB-class Bloons for just $2,250. No other tower delivers this much MOAB-specific damage at this price point. A single MOAB Mauler positioned well on the path can handle every MOAB in rounds 40–60 on its own. Top path tier-5 (Bloon Crush) creates a massive ground zero that destroys everything in a huge radius.

Sniper Monkey

Infinite range — hits any Bloon anywhere on the map regardless of where it’s placed. Middle path tier-3 (Maim MOAB) stuns MOABs on every hit, giving your other towers free damage windows. Top path tier-5 (Cripple MOAB) permanently cripples MOAB-class Bloons to deal increased damage until they’re popped. The Sniper is unique because placement doesn’t matter — you can put it anywhere and it covers the whole map.

B-Tier — Situationally Strong

Heli Pilot

Moves to follow high-priority targets. Middle path tier-5 (Special Poperations) deploys a support marine that buffs nearby towers. Top path (Apache Dartship) fires a continuous stream of darts and missiles that handle dense rounds effectively. The Heli Pilot excels on maps with awkward paths where stationary towers have poor coverage angles.

Ice Monkey

Freezes all Bloons in range simultaneously — the only tower with a true freeze-everything mechanic. Middle path tier-5 (Icicle Impale) provides permanent chill coverage that slows every Bloon touching the path. Strong in combination with high-damage towers that benefit from targets slowing down. Weak in isolation because it doesn’t deal much damage on its own.

Monkey Buccaneer

Water-only tower, but bottom path tier-5 (Flagship) is one of the strongest MOAB-class damage dealers in the game. On maps with water tiles, the Buccaneer is often A-tier. On dry maps, it’s unavailable entirely. Ranking it B-tier reflects the placement restriction.

Engineer Monkey

Builds sentry guns that auto-attack independently. Top path tier-5 (Ultraboost) permanently buffs a target tower to deal significantly more damage — it’s one of the best single-tower buffs in the game. Bottom path (Overclock) temporarily overclocks a tower to attack at double speed for a set duration. The Engineer is primarily played as a support tower rather than a damage dealer.

Banana Farm

Generates money every round passively — no Bloon popping required. Middle path tier-5 (Banana Central) generates $3,000+ per round passively. In standard games, 2–3 mid-path Banana Farms by round 30 completely change the resource trajectory of the run. In CHIMPS mode, Banana Farms are banned (the N in CHIMPS stands for No Income). Outside CHIMPS, placing Banana Farms early is one of the highest-impact decisions you can make. C-Tier — Limited Use Cases

Dart Monkey

The cheapest tower in the game. At base level it’s weak — $200 and deals minimal damage. Top path tier-5 (Apex Plasma Master) is genuinely powerful as a Paragon upgrade target. The Dart Monkey is primarily useful in the early rounds as a filler tower, or in Primary-only challenge runs. In standard games with a full tower selection, there are better options at every price point.

Boomerang Monkey

Throws boomerangs that return and hit Bloons multiple times in one throw. Middle path (MOAB Press) stuns MOAB-class Bloons on hit. Decent filler tower in the early game, outclassed by Ninja Monkey and Bomb Shooter once you have the budget for them.

Tack Shooter

Fires in 8 directions simultaneously. Excellent at sharp path corners where Bloons slow down and cluster. Bottom path tier-5 (Inferno Ring) creates a ring of fire that burns everything within range continuously. The Tack Shooter requires map-specific placement — on straight paths it underperforms, on sharp corners it’s one of the best DPS towers per dollar. Situational B-tier in the right spot, C-tier elsewhere.

Glue Gunner

Slows Bloons with glue. Top path tier-5 (Super Glue) permanently freezes all Bloons on screen simultaneously for a few seconds — useful as an emergency button in hard rounds. Bottom path (Corrosive Glue) deals damage over time through the glue effect. The Glue Gunner is a utility tower rather than a damage dealer. Its slow effect is most valuable when paired with high-damage towers that benefit from targets staying in range longer.

Full Tier List at a Glance

One important note: C-tier doesn’t mean useless. Every tower in BTD6 has a specific use case where it’s the best choice. The Tack Shooter at a 90-degree corner outperforms any A-tier tower at the same spot. This tier list reflects general performance across most maps and modes — not the ceiling of each tower in its ideal situation.
